COURSE DESCRIPTION
Description:
The Food Safety & Quality Assurance Course will focus on current food safety programs to control biological, chemical, and physical hazards and assure the safety of foods. Topics include prerequisite programs such as Current Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP), FSMA preventive controls, food safety management systems, and the application of current technologies in reducing foodborne illness. The primary objective of this course is to provide an understanding of current food safety programs and regulatory updates that are used in the food industry to assure a safe food supply.
