Description:
This course is a comprehensive training program in the management of pests in wood. It was developed to provide urban foresters, home inspection professionals, and urban pest management professionals with extensive information on wood-destroying organisms, insects, and diseases common to urban and industrial areas. You will learn about pest prevention and control and arthropod and disease identification. You will also learn about the biology of subterranean termites, drywood and dampwood termites, carpenter ants, powderpost beetles (anobiid, bostrichid, and lyctid), old house borers, round-headed borers, flat-headed borers, and other wood-boring beetles.

Open Enrollment
You will have one year from your date of enrollment to complete the program. If you cannot complete the course in one year, you may purchase a one-time, six-month extension for $50. Regardless of when it is purchased, the six-month extension begins the day after the course expires. This course is eligible to be transferred to another student if no lessons have been submitted for grading, either online or by correspondence. The original course expiration date will apply to the alternate student.
Refund Policy
Students who wish to return a course after all materials are received back at Purdue in new condition will receive a pro-rated fee refund according to the following schedule. Shipping fees will not be refunded.
- For online courses, once you start the program there is no refund.
- Within 15 days from the date of enrollment: 100%
- 15 – 30 days after the date of enrollment: 50%
- 30 days after the date of enrollment: No refund.
