For over 35 years Purdue and HSPA have partnered to provide training to the Central Service/Sterile Processing profession. Together, we have trained thousands throughout the United States and the world to provide safe, evidence based, education in patient care to the profession.

Programs
Sterile Processing Technical Training Enroll Now
Prepare yourself for the HSPA Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) certification exam. This self-study course allows you to work through the 9th Edition of the Sterile Processing Technical Training curriculum at your own pace. You have up to one full year to complete the course, which includes the required six Progress Tests and a Final Exam. Online course materials provide extra videos, quizzes and training to help you prepare for the HSPA CRCST exam.
The HSPA 9th Edition Sterile Processing Workbook is not included in the course fees and is not required to complete the online course. All content in the workbook is included in the online course materials. If desired, select the workbook during checkout and the manual and workbook will be sent in one shipment.
Offline/correspondence course: With the purchase of the HSPA 9th Edition Sterile Processing Technical Training Workbook, you can go through the course materials without online access. However, the required final exam is only available online.

Prepare yourself for the HSPA Certification in Healthcare Leadership (CHL) exam. This course leads central service professionals through the Sterile Processing Leadership Manual and Workbook to prepare them for a leadership position in the central service field.

For current CRCST professionals, six new self-study lessons are published annually by HSPA to help you maintain your certification. These lessons provide ongoing education to keep you up-to-date on the latest information in the central service field. Each lesson features an article exploring a practical, central service-related topic and an exam. Lessons are provided on the Purdue website and in the HSPA Process magazine and are valid for three years after the publication date. For paper/pencil scoring requests, please allow up to two weeks turnaround on grading.
Forms and Questions
400 Hours
To obtain your HSPA certification, 400-hours of on-site training in Sterile Processing is required. Purdue University is unable to directly help with this hands-on training. We recommend that you look in to where you might be able to earn these hours before enrolling in the course.
Scholarship
Scholarship application deadline February 26th, 2024.
