Pharmacists' Prescribing for Tobacco Cessation Medications
Needs - There is a need to educate pharmacists regarding the negative health effects of tobacco use, the most effective medication approaches for tobacco cessation and services provided by the tobacco quitline.
Audience - This activity is designed for pharmacists.
Learning Objectives - At the completion of this activity, the participant will be able to:
1. Compare various tobacco cessation medications, including the safety and efficacy data, for the management of cessation.
2. Develop a treatment regimen that incorporates the most effective medications for tobacco cessation, including drugs, doses, routes, and frequency of administration.
3. Describe the services provided by the tobacco quitline (1-800-QUIT NOW).
